作為二十世紀俄國其中一位最具特色的女作曲家，Galina Ustvolskaya ( 1919-2006 ) 以革命性的作品，打破大家對空間、宗教、聆聽的認知及概念。其作品澎湃的力量，加上不協和的和聲以及特別的樂器配置，均令她的曲目在香港較少演出。
在是次表演中香港狂人樂團會把她的作品重新呈現於香港的舞台，以延續她對音樂傳統的挑戰，讓觀眾重新思考音樂的美學，以及音樂與聲音的關係。
香港狂人樂團的年青作曲家亦會以她的作品作參考，構建出屬於他們的聲音。
曲目包括Ustvolskaya第五交響曲、作品No.1及3，以及20世紀其中一首最激動人心的鋼琴奏鳴曲, Piano Sonata No.6
As one of the most distinctive female composers of 20th-century, Galina Ustvolskaya ( 1919-2006 ) revolutionized the understanding of space, religion, and listening through her groundbreaking works. Her pieces, characterized by their powerful intensity, dissonant harmonies, and unique instrumentation, have seldom been performed in Hong Kong.
In this performance, The Maniacs will present her works on Hong Kong’s stage, continuing her challenge to traditional musical norms. We encourage the audience to reconsider the aesthetics in music, as well as the relationship between music and sound.
The young composers in The Maniacs will also compose their own sound inspired from the compositions by Ustvolskaya.
The program includes Ustvolskaya’s Symphony No. 5, Composition No. 1 and 3, and one of the most stirring piano sonatas of the 20th century, Piano Sonata No. 6.

香港新一代作曲家和樂手以「童年集體遊戲」作主題，演出各種開放形式及即興的作品。當中包含與觀眾互動及參與的環節，令大家重拾兒時美好回憶，同時推廣這種富有特色的香港另類文化。
Young composers and musicians from Hong Kong compose and perform open-form and improvisational works from ‘Group games in the childhood’. They include interactive elements and participatory sessions with the audience, recall your childhood memories and promoting this fascinating Hong Kong culture.
